G1NTOL.TV "Word On the Street" -- Shows

This video clip is called our "Word on the Street" segment where we designed questions to ask Toledoans their opinions on different subjects. We have questions for each of our four local highlights News-Sports-Shows-Netex.

This video highlights our questions about the type of shows people watch or their opinion on some famous hollywood types. Each person we interview gets to pick between the four categories and these two sets of people happened to choose "shows"

    Questions:

Of sit-coms, dramas and reality shows which do you prefer?

    Family Oriented or Sopranos Style?

Do you have TiVo or DVR?

    American Gladiators, UFC, or WWE?

    Favorite actor or actress?

If you could kick one actor or actresses a$$ who would it be?

    Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton?

    Andy Dick or Jimmy Kimmel?

Would you watch a tv show if it was made by Toledoans?

We got some great and varied responses. If you want to answer the questions feel free to do so. If you are local and want to stop by our studio, feel free to e-mail me at the gmail account.

Ok so here is the last building to go down, the Chinese Restaurant:

I have some video of the wrecking ball taking it to this building and I will post that asap.

Then we had the groundbreaking ceremony, I was not invited. We now have open space with which to build a new arena. Here are some pics of that beautiful open space.

    New Arena Construction Pictures

Here are some pictures from the demolition as Toledo builds the new arena. Here is a Blade article that highlights some current info about the project. At first we saw the Subway demolished,

Then we started with this guy:

    These are pretty good:

Feel free to send comments about the new arena or share your thoughts about what kind of events you would like to see. I am wondering if the arena plan will have parking or if we will use existing lots around the area. They are destroying a lot of the parking that was over in the area.
    More to come...

Pat and Beth stopped by yesterday

Local Photographer Pat Saine, aka PJ Saine stopped in to the Secor yesterday. He and Beth were checking out the building and going over to Arto Toledo. Here is a link to his website.

Salvatore Schiciano-- Long Week, well worth it.

I paid Sal to come in and take a few shots, photo shots! Our oil master in residence Sal Schiciano stopped in to have his mug taken. He is a great artist and worked real hard to organize the happenings at The Secor during Artomatic. I finally caught him today while he was cleaning and made him come down. You can check out at least five of Sal's pieces at Churchill's Market in Maumee. There was a great article in this week's Toledo Free Press about Walt Churchill and his family's passion for art. Mr. Churchill will premier Sal's work from September 16th-29th as part of an ongoing commitment to showcase local artists.

Artivism "Art and Activism in a Blender"

That is the logo and belief of co-artist Nate Masternak. He is another Secor Artist who recently unveiled a mural for the Cherry Street Mission. He was around Artomatic this weekend showing off his studio and running some errands dishes! :( Here are some pics of his three part mural on the side of the building. For more info about Artivism e-mail N8 at n-eight@earthlink.net.

    Live Work Create Toledo

One of the many Arts Commission Programs is the Live Work Create Toledo set up. Their vision is a collaborative community of artists and business professionals who want to make a commitment to revitalizing downtown and making a commitment to the area. Check out their website for more information about the work they are doing in Toledo.

    ArtoMaTiC 419 Bits

Over at ArtoMatic this evening was fun. The crowd was plenty and diverse. The music was mesmerizing and the mood was upbeat. Monk was still doing a Tattoo and at the Tat Table we found a card for Spor Corp. A very interesting new media/artistic venture and an interesting take on perceptions.

I took Suzanne over to the Wall of Hearts exhibit. An interactive piece that Artomatic Guests can create with the artist Nadia Ann Abou-Karr. I had came across this earlier and I thought it was such a great concept. I really think it is a powerful way to get people connected. Once the people around the piece noticed I had handed the marker to Suzanne, it dawned on them that they to can participate in the wall of hearts.

The Fort Industry Square building is a fantastic structure. Each floor has a different set of artists and a ton of interesting stops along the way. There are things to do for everyone. The elevator has a good view of Summit St. and the architecture of that main elevator area is fantastic. We also liked the spiral staircase on Floor Number Four.

Anna Jo and Ronald--Checkin out SGE Media and the Gallery.

Anna Jo and Ronald Gosses stopped in while visiting the gallery. Anna Jo teaches in Mentor (yeah, eastside of Cleveland) and Ronald was a former Toledo Artist Club president.

    Suzanne came with me!!

My wife stopped down to check out the shennanigans. She actually took some pictures for me while I went with camera man #1 over to Artomatic 419. Thanks Suz!!

Malissa Kuznicki is also "in the house" over here at The Secor. Her medium is glass and specializing in flameworking with some glass blowing. Here are some samples of her work and she can be reached at m_kuznicki@yahoo.com. She was too shy for the camera today, but we'll try to catch her when she is not looking.

    Is John Pollack Sleeping??

John Pollack, a local puzzle box maker and photographer stopped in to see what we were all about. He was so excited he fell asleep during the photo shoot. E-mail him at johnpollock@hotmail.com for information about puzzle boxes and wood designs.

    Yo Andre

Andre Frye came in and adjusted his sleeves so we could get an action shot :)
He is also a Artist found in studio 645. His medium is 2-d and 3-D linear constructs.

While at the Secor see Alanna Paully--The Art Representative

Alanna is our Art Representative Today for The Secor Artists. She will help coodinate sales and direct you around the building. What a great smile!!

Artomatic Links- A list of people we ran into at the Fort Industry Square Building

    • First we ran into 3 Old Broads, down on the water street entrance to the building. They were a very lively trio and we got some great footage of their artwork and their story for Toledo.
    • Next we ran into Christopher Pacak from the Eye of Horus Burns Studios, his artistic work is a mix of Native American, Buddhism and other spiritual realms. He encourages anyone interested in his work to e-mail him at eyeofhorusburns@myspace.com.
    • We also came across Ophelia Thompson, a local poet, who was performing some of her work. She is an artist, author, musician, vocalist and storyteller. Here is a link to her website.
    • Brian "MONK" Taylor was designing a Tattoo. Here is a link, and be sure to come down this weekend if you want an original Monk.
    • Finally, we came across the Toledo Remanufactured exhibit. They had a display of their work, as 13 graphic designers who are trying to extract a city's graphic culture. Buy their book at Toledo ReManufactured . Com!

    Jacob David and Jeremy

Jacob David and Jeremy were hanging out for a bit in the studio. Jacom is one half of Above the Shop Studios, a local film production company over here at the Secor. Stop by this afternoon and show Artomatic and The Secor some love.

Welcome to the Secor Building and Artomatic 419

Here is The G1NTOL Guy, Camera Man #1, and Jeremy getting ready to cover Artomatic 419. Make sure you stop by the Secor Building and get your pic on the blog. More pictures to come!

The G1NTOL Guy Love's Toledo. Do You?

Toledo has treated me well over the years. After attending Bowling Green, I never thought I would stay in the area, but job and life circumstances landed me here and I am glad to stay! I have worked for TPS, Anne Grady, Owens Community College, and even did some temp work at Jeep!

I really enjoy the Metroparks, Mud Hens, and the rib cookoff(s), although the UHS event will always be king!

Most Toledoans are fantastic, hard working people and I meet more and more everyday. I look forward to working with local businesses and leaders to deliver quality television programming over the Internet. I am also looking forward to see the talent base that lives here and the many ideas for shows, events and videos that we can highlight as part of the G1NBC family.

We are in various stages of corporate development and doing a lot of work in Toledo to let citizens and businesses know who we are and what we can do to improve their advertising and entertainment needs.

Please feel free to visit any of our websites that change as we grow:

The Network Exchange option for G1NBC is simple, we use our technology to help you market to your audience. We can assist in building web ads and pages on our site and help you create commercials you can post on yours! Our NETEX page will stream local commercials, how-to videos, at home sales ads from local citizens, and real estate offerings.

We are also considering the ability to create holiday greetings, classified ad videos, and ongoing political and educational discussions and arguments from community leaders and citizens.

If you have an idea to share, a product to promote, or an event to publicize, please consider the NETEX options for G1NBC Toledo.

Sports-- Your local netowork for sports of all sorts.

We are a fan of sports and the the impact it has on those who play and those who watch. We want to help broadcast our hometown Toledo teams. What would you watch over the Internet? Local clips from High School sports? Clips of championship matches? Local golf events? Local Bowling alleys when they have PBA tournaments? Highlight your boxing club or Tae Kwon Do classes. Make a workout video to air on our network.

Participating in sports helps people learn discipline, leadership and teamwork. Watching builds memories, experiences and lifetimes. Call us This Day to talk about Toledo's local sports opportunities.

    Shows

At G1NBC, each affiliate will be responsible for producing some of their own original content. It should be produced, recorded and performed by talent from the region of the affiliate station. It can be a sit-com, reality series, or drama and should be highly entertaining. We are in the process of building our network, so show production is a definite G1NTOL priority for the next few months, we are willing to read scripts or interview production companies and writers in order to get the ball rolling. If you have a show idea for us to consider, please send me an e-mail.

    News--One of our local offerings

G1NTOL.TV wants to be considered a critical component to deliver local news. We want to reach people with a different style of news offering a new approach to stories and much less of an emphasis on weather and sports coverage. We want our news offerings to cover good stories and bad stories, keep citizens in the loop on local leaders, and cover local events.

We are currently looking for individuals who want to be a part of our news department. You may have personal media or broadcasting experience or you may have a camera and a dream. Either way, www.g1ntol.tv can be an online destination both both.

News is just one offering for our local communities. We will highlight and develop each of the four areas (News, Shows, Sports, Netex) as we develop our business. We look forward to hearing from Toledoans about the types of stories they feel need media attention.

    Long Time No Post

Hello everyone who is not watching or listening. And those who are.

I have been busy lately with trying to purchase my camera, fire staff, and make advertising and partnership contacts. I have a few leads and looking for more, if interested please drop me a line.

I wanted to give out a website now finished by G1NBC. It will be our feed frame for venues and affiliates who work with us for their broadcast services. It has a big picture frame for the main screen, an advertising sidebar with interactive menu below the main screen, and another smaller video screen for weather updates, advertisement commercials, and netex ads.

Click Here for the Link to the New Feed Frame for G1NBC. TV

Please let me know if you have any problems accessing the site or if you have feedback on the design and set up. We feel that this will allow us provide a lot of media services and enhance on of the many designs we have in the works for our IPTV network.

I plan to have office space in Toledo this summer and am in the process of planning a few major announcements for show production.

Have a Great Memorial Day Weekend and I will check in again soon.

    Monday, May 14, 2007

If content is king, shouldn't we start with that?

As an IPTV affiliate and computer based video provider, I think the most exciting thing about the media boom over the internet is the possibilities that arise from the breakdown of New York and California as media capitals.

In Toledo, we love to talk about the "Brain Drain", i.e. smart people leaving the region for better culture and job opportunities somewhere else. Well the onset of the internet and the subsequent independent media frenzy that followed is very significant. It will allow cities to take back their media and create communities that truly reflect its citizens. Usually, access to terrestrial television poses little news, commercial, and talent promotion opportunities for cities other that daily news. We all know that most of the daily news for a city is weather!

Therefore, it is time to start thinking about the type of content that cities in major regions can develop. The possibilities are endless. Music Videos, News Programs, Independent shows, Small Business videos, etc.

I hope that you work with us to build a program or commercial that represents your talents and your ideas. I also hope that this opportunity will allow people in the Toledo Community to take a great role in this new media landscape. Our mission is to create media for a changing world, and we hope to change things in Toledo.

    The G1NTOL Guy
