The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and Kickstart Toledo are hosing the 7th Meet and Greet for all LEW creatives, artists, friends, producers, and affiliates to meet up, ride the bus loop, mingle and network.

One of the stops on the bus loop is the Secor Gallery, our creative home.

News--Justice for Danny Brown

The purpose of this post is to spread link love to two of Toledo's Favorite bloggers and shed light on an unfortunate injustice at the helm in our local courts.

Here is a glimpse of the debate as ripped from this History Mike Blog Post

Danny Brown, who was wrongly convicted in 1982 of a rape-murder and who spent 19 years in prison for a crime that he did not commit. DNA evidence later exonerated Danny, and he walked out of a Toledo courtroom in 2001 with the right to a new trial.

Yet, Danny has not yet recieved his day in court. We need to increase the public clamor for Danny Brown to finally have his day.

Lisa Renee's Glass City Jungle reports today that:

"Part of that reason is probably related to the lack of media attention and pressure on the Lucas County Prosecutor’s office…if you are inclined to do just a bit more...[call and pressure]...(419) 213-4700 is the phone number listed for the office of Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates."

Reformers Unanimous- Addictions Program-- Coming to Monclova

Reformers Unanimous, a Christ centered addictions program from Rockford Ill. is opening a chapter in Monclova Ohio. Monclova Road Baptist Church will host the program on Friday Nights from 7-9 p.m. beginning Friday March 21st 2008.

Anyone who struggles with addiction or stubborn habit(s) are welcome to attend.

Free Shriners Health Screenings

The Ottowa County Shrine Club and Magruder Hospital are sponsering a free Health Screening Clinic on Saturday April 5th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.

Purpose of the Screening: To evaluate children with orthopedic or burn problems, to determine eligibility of No-Cost Medical Care at a Shrine Hospital.

The Secor Studios & Gallery are proud to announce the first annual “‘Tis The Secor” fine arts holiday celebration.

On December 1, 2007 the Secor will host a large group exhibit featuring over 40 artists from the Toledo area. Along with the exhibit there will be several fine arts organizations present and participating in the event including the Toledo Museum of Art, the Toledo School for the Arts, the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, the Toledo Opera, the Glassity Theatre as well as the Lucas County Art Assist program. ‘Tis The Secor is were artists, organizations and the community come together for a one of a kind fine arts holiday celebration.

This video clip is called our "Word on the Street" segment where we designed questions to ask Toledoans their opinions on different subjects. We have questions for each of our four local highlights News-Sports-Shows-Netex.
